Aleksandr Mukhin | Artist Profile Photo
Aleksandr Mukhin
Surat Thani, Thailand
Artist Aleksandr Mukhin paints colorful surrealist scenes that blend elements of fantasy and a cartoonish style. “I always start freely, just putting pencil to surface and searching for the first image that emerges,” says Aleksandr. His work is a mix of personal narratives and spontaneity. Aleksandr began drawing at five, but his parents steered him toward math and physics. After exploring music and traveling to South America, he returned to art in Kyrgyzstan, where his marker drawings sold online. Moving to Thailand, he shifted to painting and launched a full-time art career. His studio, located in an apartment on Koh Samui, is a space of creative chaos, with art supplies, paints, and canvases scattered everywhere. When not painting, Aleksandr teaches mathematics.
