Through color, texture and movement, Petr Ldin renders human expression on canvas. The women he depicts, whether dancing, reclining or posing, all project the same passive expressions, with tight lips and smooth eyes. There is a sense that these women are acquainted with reality, both the good and bad. They move through the compositions with the same attitude they move through life, accepting certain harsh realities. However, there is a celebration in portraying the serious side of living. It is part of the beauty of being human and experiencing emotion. Petr captures this duality with his use of vibrant colors and varying brushwork, projecting a sense of passion within his figures.

About The Artist
After graduating from art school, I went to study graphic design at St. Petersburg State University. My final project was a to create graphics for the band Nine Inch Nails. This became one of the first independent large projects in my biography. The purpose of this design project was the development of graphic language capable of creating an impression of the real experience of a concert. Graphic design, the photos and computer skills I have gained, distinguish me essentially from many modern artists. They give me a number of additional interesting possibilities for experimenting in my art.
Now, having graduated from the university, I paint all the time. Creativity fills my life. My art has also been on display at famous interior design studios such as Bulthaup and Promemoria. I have participated in many exhibitions. Today my paintings are in numerous private collections in the USA, Russia, and Europe.
