Nicholas Foschi’s abstract paintings are bold and optimistic. He seeks to bring energy and movement to the canvas and achieves this through contrasting colors and varying brushstrokes. The pieces appear simple, but up close they are complex, with many delicate and deliberate markings. Like watching clouds shift in the sky, the abstraction can conjure different configurations depending on how you look at it. The colors, tangerine and shades of blue, are bright and solid, but not quite primary. His compositions and colors keep you looking into the work for something, searching, feeling on the edge of the familiar and novel.

About The Artist
Artist Statement
I use broad paint strokes with a combination of unusual techniques to create a flow of energy on the canvas. I consider myself to be an experimental painter blending my own shades of colors and textures to manipulate the way the paint flows upon the canvas.
