Artist
Liz Brozell San Francisco, California

Liz is a self-taught artist who is inspired by the graceful movement of the figure. She paints both from her own photographs and from life. One of her favorite subjects, the dancer, exemplifies a celebration of the female form and the artist’s personal love of ballet. Liz’s paintings are emotional and even raw, capturing each subject with active line- and brushwork. She does not assign an intended interpretation or narrative to her paintings; “I think that each viewer brings their own response to my art, and I don't care to 'mess' with their vision and experience.”

    Artist Statement

I love to draw with paint. I tend to choose subject matter that mirrors my own emotional experience of the world and believe that my most successful work reflects images that are common to most people's life experiences.
I am self-taught, and am inspired by a love of humanity, movement, line and paint itself.
