    Artist Statement

My mission is to bring the designs of Gianni Versace back to life. I was the Versace menswear specialist at Neiman Marcus in the 1990’s. After Gianni Versace was murdered in 1997, I started collecting the ties which Gianni himself had a hand in designing, which are now referred to as pre-death ties. Each of my paintings has an original Versace tie wrapped around it and attached with glue. The tie and canvas become one with each other to make a dynamic new work. I want people to smile when looking at my work and remember the contribution Gianni Versace made to the fashion and art world.
