The Modern Americana is a continuous and ever growing project that illustrates the perceived American lifestyle and current mass culture. This project grows and expands just as our culture and relationships change. The Modern Americana is a subject that I define as the contemporary arrangement of people, and the synthetic environment they have immersed themselves within. This cultural framework is the designed and artificial setting that my body of work manifests. My work is an exaggeration of our current society. I stage images and figures to articulate human desire, meshing images together to create a dialog on our current culture. I present neither a positive or negative view but instead a lavish view of our American culture.
