Dorothy learned the joy of putting color to canvas in her grandfather’s art studio at an early age. He encouraged her to explore art using oil pastels alongside his easel while he painted. She soon progressed to her own easel and oil paint, inspiring a love of art she followed through college and into adulthood. Dorothy’s approach to her abstract artwork entails pouring paint in transparent and saturated layers to create sweeping colors across the canvas. Grandfather’s easel still has a place of honor in her art studio, in fact you can see it used to display her paintings on UGallery.

About The Artist
As a child, I spent hours in my grandfather’s studio watching him paint and inhaling the scent of what I came to remember as the smell of color. He introduced me to the joy of painting and I have continued to revel when opening up rich tubes of juicy color ever since.
