Artist Statement
Initially everything is abstract. From this world originates a figurative universe. My work progresses according to spots, lines, colors and the unexpected. The material is transformed and adapted. My intuition, my feelings and my emotions guide me toward my figurative world. My story is already there, right before the viewer’s eyes. In my paintings, light and wealth hides a relentless search for a metamorphosis of shapes and features. Happiness and constant joy create, transform and morph it. The colors bring me to other colors. A shape becomes a bird, a fish, a flower or a character.
Through the characters, I express my quest for beauty in all its forms, my inner self and my happiness to live. These characters are a pretext to explore other forms as if their existence was limited to their own creations. The audience creates their own story with my paintings. My lyrical and baroque universe belongs to the eye of the viewer. Each surface is inhabited either by shapes, textures or colors. The viewer is held in suspense. No rest with my paintings. The characters interlace within each other. Characters, birds, animals, flowers and nature swirl to emerge wonder, wealth, brightness and happiness. I offer the viewer a very intense experience where the eye is constantly looking for new forms.
I work in acrylic as it fits well with my spirited and effervescent temperament. No time to wait to see where my canvas will carry me. Sometimes I incorporate textures such as modeling pastes, beads, decorative motifs and gold leaf. This adds a lot of wealth and light in my work. I work with small and large formats but I prefer large formats. I have so many things to say, to discover and explore. My characters need all this space to interact freely. In my paintings, I bring the viewer from one world to another where I spread happiness, beauty and joy of life.
