    Artist Statement

I get my inspiration from everyday working people. When people view my paintings I want them to appreciate the characters and the environment in which they exist. Everyone has a story to tell and I am a storyteller.

After working for many years in a strict, disciplined environment, including banking, I yearned for a creative outlet. When painting my characters I feel as though I have known them all of my life.

Dear K Sommer I am so sorry that I am responding so late to your question. I have been having a problem with my computer. The final coating is a clear protective acrylic varnish. Thank you very much for purchasing one of my favorite paintings. Carolyn

Hello, Carolyn - I love your Moon Cow painting. I'm wondering if the edges are painted/wrapped and why the painting is "varnished"? Thank you very much!
