My work is inspired by people in various settings, in an urban environment or at the beach. My figurative paintings focus on the movement and interaction of diverse shapes and colors in each setting. My goal is to capture the character and personalities of the individuals in a scene, as well as the surrounding as a whole. By observing the way my subjects navigate their way and relate to each other, I can capture the moment they are randomly connected, even if just briefly.
My cityscape and landscape paintings are influenced by the energy, movement and strong patterns of New York City and the textures and colors of Vermont.
