My primary focus in life has been recording what I see around me. Even as a child, I drew my way through long rolls of shelf paper and kept Crayola in business. My artwork reflects my fascination with the effect of light on real objects and places, and the quieting effect on the spirit that beauty brings.
When a still life arrangement comes together or I find the perfect location for a landscape, it is the inherent sense of beauty and balance that makes it the right choice. I want my paintings to give people a sense of centering, with the peace that beauty drops into the soul. This world is full of noise and worry and I want my paintings to be a place of refreshment and joy.
