    Artist Statement

My work spans two dimensions – the dimensions of space and time. It blends elements of the old world with those of the new world, and reflects several of my lifelong passions: photography, history and architecture.

I merge rare, historic photographs with contemporary photographs I shoot from the exact same vantage point in the present day to create a single image that spans a century or more, revealing the past and the present together.

My hope is that these images elicit a powerful and personal emotional response in the viewer, drawing on the natural sentimentality and nostalgia people have for their childhood, their community and the common human desire to draw a personal connection from the past to the present.
