Both of my parents were artists so I've always made art. Through the years, my style of working has evolved. In my early career, inspired by a professor at Miami University, I became very interested in etching and line drawing. I then worked in France as a graphic designer and as an art director at ABC in New York, and made many drawings during that time. Later, while living in Buenos Aires, I experimented with large paintings filled with symbols and layered colors. Four years ago, I left South America, where I had been living for many years, to return to the U.S. I traveled by ship, and on one of the islands where we docked, I bought a bracelet made of large ceramic beads. The bright glazed beads inspired me to use those colors in my work. Now living in Florida, I use bright acrylic paint inspired also by the art deco buildings of Miami Beach.
