My art refers to the experience of time and memory conveyed through the landscape. Though I feel the overall image is more important than the message, my work is very much about the changes that occur to the landscape over time through geological processes and human impact. My landscapes create a sense of stillness and the passing of time. I explore the feelings of nostalgia and personal connection to place, abstracting the landscape and stripping it of detail. I mimic time's effect on memory. It is my goal to present my work in a way that allows the viewer to connect with the piece on a deeper level and to evoke a feeling of nostalgia and timelessness.
