Janet Hamilton is best known for her bold and textured, mixed media paintings made from oil, beeswax, spray paint and magazine scraps. Using knives instead of brushes to create the depth, she stacks the paint in a rhythmic, sometimes chaotic striped pattern. Interested in making a simple landscape a little bolder or a geometric design come to life, she finds expression in the structured chaos and creates these energetic, multi-layered abstracts using her spontaneity and youthful spirit. She has shown her artwork in several exhibitions and has work in many private residences throughout the US.
