I paint landscapes because it connects me to the natural world. Painting outside is challenging and fulfilling. I like exploring the moods and essence of a place in a multi-sensory way. Through seeing, smelling, touching, and hearing, I distill and interpret my experience of a particular time and place.
Painters from history who inspire me include; John Singer Sargent, Gabrielle Münter, Tom Thomson, Corot, Monet and Ray Strong.
