This scene is of a beautiful old building standing watch over the nearby wooded park. Lots of walkers, with or without their dogs. I captured this woman out in the early morning. This piece is from my City Life series. It is produced with the finest watercolor materials available. The piece is on heavyweight paper and will require a frame for display.

Getting to Know Judy

For Judy Mudd, creating a work of art means much more than simply reproducing something she sees. “It is more than painting a subject, it is expressing a feeling,” she explains. Judy develops her paintings with thorough reconnaissance work. She goes out on photo shoots in a variety of atmospheric conditions, sketches outdoors, takes notes, and completes color and value studies. From there, back in the studio, she lets the paintbrush guide her. Outside of painting, Judy also runs a real estate business with her husband. In many ways, her work in real estate can be seen via the architectural influences in her watercolors.
