Inspired by the classic Lemony Snicket series, the image features the three children from the stories alone on an island, a storm brewing, and a great eye overseeing everything.

This piece is on heavyweight paper and has a 1/4" wide border around the image.  It will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Chamisa

Chamisa Kellog is a professional illustrator, with a degree in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her background and training in illustration undoubtedly influence the style and content of her fine art. She illustrates and reinterprets stories we already know, fairytales and myths. Outside of the story, she re-imagines the characters and captures them in their defining moment. The focus is on the moment of the character’s loss or transformation, which makes them who they are, or who they will become. For instance, the moment Pandora opens the box, or Red Riding Hood conquers the frightening wolf. The work is both light and dark. It is whimsical in its illustrative storybook style, but mature and serious in its subject matter. The emphasis on where she places detail is surprising. The characters have blank, featureless faces, but vibrant colored hair and clothes. Without identifying facial features, the work captures the universality of fairytales. We are all at some point caught in a comprising moment, tangled, exposed, or threatened.
