Chris Wagner
New Bern, North Carolina
Chris Wagner uses color to express his unique vision of the people and places around him. He currently lives in North Carolina and enjoys keeping up with artists from around the world through Facebook. In his work, he tries to focus on subjects that contrast lights and darks. He recently found inspiration in the way a strong back light created amazing shapes and shadows.

Thanks so much for the update, Frank. Nice to know my work has a good home and that it made it safely. :)
Received the painting Chris and it was all I hoped it would be- Many thanks, Frank
Chris- Have a great trip and of course- keep on Painting- Cheers, Frank
Frank, will be sending the painting out soon as I get the Ugallery box. I love the way they handle shipping, very mindful and protective of what is being sent. Side note, my gf and I are taking a trip at the end of June to Maine, and we'll be staying a night outside of Mystic, Ct. on our way. Will be fun knowing as I drive down 95 across the sound from you, my art will be enjoyed on the other side of the water. I have no doubt that my camera is going to be full of future paintings after our adventure!
Thanks so much Chris- I can't wait to receive it- Cheers, Frank
Hi Frank, thank for enjoying the painting. That is one of my favorites, I love night scenes. It is indeed wired, and will be ready to hang as soon as you get it. Thanks again, Chris
Hi Chris- I just ordered "Fifth Street" and hope it is ready to hang- meaning with a wire attached? I look forward to receiving it- Cheers, Frank
Hi Chris, thanks much for the follow up. One of the nice things about Ugallery is the option of returning purchases. No artist enjoys seeing one come back as they do seeing one go out, but I would rather know my painting is in a perfect place than taking up room that it doesn't fit in as well as hoped. I love showing people my paintings that have only seen them online; the reactions are always fun, whether small or large. There is something that can't be captured on a screen the same way it can be in person, and the same goes for when you take it home and have that same piece hanging on your own wall. Please do keep an eye out, and hopefully another will have a better fit for you. Happy New Year! - Chris
Chris, I wanted to let you know that we really loved Pine Shadows 2, but it just didn't work in the space like we had hoped. I feel bad that we sent it back, but I have no doubts that you will have continued success as an artist. We like your style, and we will keep our eyes open for something else from you that would work in our home. Take care.
Hi Chris, the sides of Pine Shadows 2 are painted black, not wrapped. With a majority of my paintings I either paint the edges with white or black giving them a clean look that looks nice even if not framed. At the bottom of the image, there are a few photos that you can click on, one of which will pull up what the side looks like. http://www.ugallery.com/acrylic-painting-Pine-Shadows-2 If you have any other questions, please let me know. PS...that painting is a personal favorite. Thanks much, Chris
Hi Chris. We are contemplating a purchase of Pine Shadows 2. It doesn't appear to be framed. Question: Does the paint on the front wrap around the canvas on the sides? Thanks. Chris K.
Thanks so much for the follow up Jennifer, I love to hear that my painting is getting a tour of your home, haha! I was thinking about that painting over Christmas as I walked past the same spot the original dandelion was. There was a whole new crop blooming...I could have done a new one and called it "Winter Evening Wish"! Now after 5 days of true winter's weather, I'm ready for the real Spring to start coming to life in the next few months.
Hi Chris! We love "Spring Evening Wish"! I am trying to find the perfect place for it. In the meantime, it travels around the house and makes me smile each time I see it. Thank you!
Thanks, Kathy! If you are on facebook, one of Ugallery's artists visited the This Old House home that they are displayed in and sent me photos which I posted. :) www.facebook.com/chriswagnerarts I hope my little cow will add a few smiles to your own home when it arrives!
I look forward to receiving and enjoying "Small Cow 2"
Response to Chris Wagner Overland Gallery - Cynthia Dunn is having an exhibit in the fall titled Wabi-Sabi. If you entered something, that may be a good way to get in and have your work seen by the Kinston market. Her exhibit openings (usually on a Wednesday from 4:30-7:00) are usually well attended. I am hoping to submit something. What are the hours for the for the Artwalks and directions? Thank you for your quick response. Linda
Hi, Linda, thanks so much for the comment. I'm in New Bern, and have really enjoyed becoming more familiar with both the Kinston Arts Council and the art scene around town. I'm hoping to start showing at the Overland Gallery soon; I had a wonderful talk with one of the owners a few weeks ago. If you are on Facebook, I strongly urge you to check out a group that I started there, called the Neuse River Artists. We have close to 400 members, some are showing artists, some are beginners, and others are simply admirers. Also, come down for one of our Artwalks (2nd Friday of each month) and enjoy the vibrant crowd of creative people that we have. I'll be in my studio (where I have some of my Ugallery paintings as well as others) on display. The facebook group that I referenced can be found here. Thanks again! www.facebook.com/groups/neuseriverartists/

Chris Wagner - I am a budding artist in Kinston. I was submitting some paintings to the Arts Council gift shop and saw your horse. LOVED IT! I would like learn more about you, how you got started, what sort of art you do - any tips that you are willing to share. I would say questions, but I don't even know what to ask yet. Thanks, Linda
Hi Buddy, Long time... Your skills are sharper, the colors are very nice,I still have some of your early images in my computer good luck Bob
"Under Her Gaze" another fab piece. Good work.
"CLOVER #2" - Really a fantastic piece. I checked out your FB post - nice to see a spectrum of your work. I look forward to seeing additional pieces posted w/ UGALLERY. Stay the path - Best
Thanks for the posts. I have been working furiously this last 12 months on my first large scale solo show; the final count was 53 paintings on the walls at the opening! I haven't painted that much in a year since art school. I was positive once the show was up, I would be looking forward to a break, but as I type this I have a canvas primed next to me for a new acrylic, and a sheet of watercolor paper on my board as I get ready to work on a portrait commission. When I feel the drive, it is impossible to turn off. Now that the show is up and hung, please keep checking in, as I will be showing more new works here on Ugallery in the coming weeks.
amazing works and good opportunity for artists and buyers!Well done
Really enjoy seeing your work displayed here.. Your work is beautiful and for me, some of your paintings are serene and peaceful, simply gorgeous. Others are thought-provoking (the abstracts in particular) and I enjoy looking at them time and time again. One day soon I will own one! Great job Chris! :)
Hi, I'm Chris. Just a note thanking UGallery for welcoming me to this site, there is some wonderful art here. If anyone has any questions, please ask. I'll answer any that I can.
