Inspired by my love of the sea and of a mystery of lighthouses. This painting was adapted from a photograph of the point, with my interpretation of a stormy sea. It is on heavyweight paper and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Grant

Grant’s watercolors are painted in a traditional style with particularly careful handling of color and light. He has mastered the presentation of water and its reflective qualities. Currently residing in his native South Africa, Grant has also lived in the United States, so his paintings depict scenes from a myriad of places. “I feel my love for seascapes and boats shines through in my work,” says Grant. Six times per year, he teaches a watercolor workshop from his studio, which is located on the beach in the resort town of Umzumbe, South Africa.
