The wildflowers are blooming with gusto this year here in West Virginia. I have done a series of watercolor paintings to celebrate this yearly event entitled "Field Flowers." There are eight paintings in this series. Each painting is spontaneous, energetic, and colorful! The painting is on 140 lb Arches watercolor paper and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Pamela

Pamela Gatens focuses on brushwork and layering in order to express her love of color. She finds inspiration in everything from beautiful flowers to a smiling cat. Her passion for art is so great that she feels nothing makes her happier than painting. “My colorful paintings come from the true happiness I feel in front of the easel,” she explains. She paints almost every day and especially loves the quiet solitude of the woods. She moved to West Virginia from Los Angeles and loves her new neighbors: birds and bears.
