This is the first piece of my Altea series. This town was built in the 1600s and has a myriad of white buildings, archways, alleyways, tile roofs, and cobble streets. The colors of the antiguo pueblo change as the day progresses into night. This piece is on heavyweight paper and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Lanie

Lanie Widmar paints realistic abstracts of landscapes, ranging from European and South American villages to the plains of her native southwestern home. Using just enough pictorial imagery to suggest reality, she strives to portray the essence of a scene, allowing the viewer to participate with his or her imagination. Lanie’s process involves photographing, sketching and painting studies en plein air. She loves to travel and is an enthusiastic belly dancer.
