Artwork

I try to convey the effort it takes the modern man to move up and out of the circumstances that make up his being and existence. This piece is a ceramic sculpture that has been finished in a way to look like bronze. Each Small Being is individually hand-modeled with clay at a high temperature and painted in bronze. It is then placed on a solid wood panel, which has been coated and painted red. This piece comes ready to hang.

Yelitza Diaz

Mauldin, South Carolina

Born in Venezuela, Yelitza Diaz’s life has been wrapped in the arts since childhood. She founded a gallery with her husband, who is also an artist, and was successful for many years until the crime and corruption in the local government became unbearable. They now live in South Carolina, where she makes art that explores human existentialism and the political and social developments of her native country. Her sculptures are made with ceramic techniques using a minimalist contemporary style. Fun fact: Yelitza designed the town seal for her native Municipio Falcón in Venezuela.

I have just discovered your work. Of course it is difficult to get a true feeling for a piece online, and all of them look wonderful to me, but U-14 Wavy Red in particular speaks to me. My art budget only stretches so far, but should you ever be having a sale and be willing to sell this piece for $900 please let me know! Congratulations on your fantastic creations.

I was worried about the safety of the shipment, as this is a fragile piece, but the package arrived packed so well, I was really impressed. It took me a while to unpack it, and when I finally took the artwork out of the box, it looked even better in real life. I love the originality of the piece and how thought provoking it is. It fit beautifully in our living room and matched the decor perfectly. I will definitely consider purchasing more artwork from the same artist in the future.
