Gregg Otteson
Backus, Minnesota

Gregg Otteson creates art as a way to relieve stress, a process he feels is universal and that many people share. "We do it, in part, to speak a wordless language, reveal a foggy mystery, unlock a secret door." Photography especially interests him because he loves the process of trying to define a feeling with one image. He spends multiple hours a day with his photo files, working and reworking elements like contrast and colors. He works professionally with drug and alcohol addiction patients, and uses art as a release from the difficult occupation. He currently lives in Minnesota.

Thanks to the buyer of Circle. I love the look of shadows made by grasses in the water. This was shot near my home on a small private lake in the woods.

Comments About This Piece

Wispy, delicate, almost lace like branches leaning into each other. Nature almost human.

Limited Edition

Certain pieces of artwork on UGallery, mostly photography and printmaking, are labeled as either limited edition or open edition. Pieces that are in a limited edition are produced in a set limited quantity. Open edition artworks are not limited in quantity and can be reproduced indefinitely. In both cases, each piece in the edition is identical and is considered an original. Limited edition works are generally more valuable because of the limited number available. This piece is available exclusively at UGallery.
