"Sol posto, terra esquecida" roughly means "the sun has set, the land is forgotten."
This landscape was captured in Portugal in the southern region of Alentejo. The sun is setting, and you can see the dark silhouette of the hills. The lack of visible detail allows the viewer to imagine this could have been shot anywhere. I like to think, however, that the image in her all wholeness could have only been produced in this very place.
Pedro Cesar is a Portuguese street photographer currently living in Sweden. His work is based on the constant search for aesthetic moments in everyday life. When Pedro comes upon just the right subject–a moment he defines as “magic"-he quickly snaps the shutter to translate the scene into a photographic composition, frozen in time. The resulting images are a true reflection of human interaction. Pedro’s photography feels both honest and cinematographic, sparking our curiosities and imaginations.
