Curtis Radclyffe says he has "always been entranced by certain glances and atmospheres, moods and feelings." He spends a great deal of time outside, regardless of the weather, searching for his subject matter. He explains of this photograph, "The building for sea water inlet, Sizewell nuclear power station, Suffolk."

Curtis Radclyffe

London, United Kingdom

Photographer Curtis Radclyffe’s body of work experiments with exposure time to reveal what is stable and what changes with time. Based in London, he often aims his camera at local parks, and his series of trees displays stationary trunks behind their moving branches. Curtis also travels to find his subjects, and recent expeditions include the Sizewell nuclear power station in Suffolk and an old gun fort called Number One the Thames, built in 1855 to guard the River Thames. After earning a Masters and undergraduate degrees in Photography and Film, Curtis directed several feature films. When he was ready to move away from narrative art forms, he picked up the camera and began producing still images to evoke certain moods and atmospheres.
