Yasmine Rafii carries her camera most places and shoots all of the time. Some images become raw material for compositing, some are simple documents, most are deleted and a very few move forward into final processing. Each of Yasmine's deceptively simple, contemplative compositions are the result of many hours of shooting and searching out the right location at the right time. She says of this piece, "One afternoon in Mexico, I watched a flock of small red birds flit from the top of one cactus to another. Like a choreographed dance, they changed positions to a fluid rhythm. After a bit, I was lucky enough to capture one of them in this composition."
