In Native American traditions, the owl holds a sacred place. The mere appearance of an owl signifies caution or a sign of good fortune. My experience has been the latter, with a sense of blessing in an owl's presence.
Mark McKnight is one with the outdoors. From traveling to the Amazon and living with migratory river indians to experiencing the mystique of the Pacific Northwest, Mark loves to capture magnificent moments and extend the memory through the printed form. His ongoing photo series titled Owl People derives from Native American tradition where the owl’s presence holds a sacred place. Fun fact: When Mark’s not capturing still images, he shoots television programs as the Director of Photography. The man simply can not get away from the camera!
