Yasmine Rafii carries her camera most places and shoots all of the time. Some images become raw material for compositing, some are simple documents, most are deleted and a very few move forward into final processing. Each of Yasmine's deceptively simple, contemplative compositions are the result of many hours of shooting and searching out the right location at the right time. She explains, "Carrying a camera with me at all times lets me take advantage of moments like this. The setting sun saturates the terra cotta wall casting a deep shadow from an interfering staircase. The composition of light and dark, bouncing from edge to edge in the frame is both stable and exciting."
