I developed this technique of dipping paper into a vat of indigo dye and moving it in ways to make the image. The papers are dipped multiple times over a number of days to add complexity and to take advantage of the fact that the indigo vat is constantly changing. The paper reflects the fact that it has been wet. The paper for this piece is very heavy and the edges very irregular. Because the edges are interesting, I recommend suspending the image inside a frame of matting so that the edges show.
