This series starts as a poem. I think of a phrase and try to image what it looks like. sometimes thats easy and sometimes its hard. I then begin to find images related to the phrase. I use everything from found photos, my photos, photoshopped wolor gradients, and video synthesizers to create the layers of imagery. I print on a material called perforated vinyl. This material is used in advertising (bus windows, business windows) because you can see through it and print an advertisement on one side. I use it to juxtapose images together in collage. I attach the images to mirror and that lets you see reflections of the room and yourself in the images. The works also change throughout the day because they are dependent on the ambient lighting of the room. I like to say they go to sleep when we do. During the brightest points of the day the works reveal new layers of imagery.
