About this artwork

This is the Waverly Diner, at the corner of Waverly Place and 6th Avenue in New York. The warmth of the sunset lights the scene, combined with the neon, subway-billboard, and subway-globe lights. People walk along 6th Avenue, one person walks a dog. A woman in the foreground texts on her phone, and men are walking up and down the subway steps. The Empire State Building is visible in the background.
