This piece was created using an “alla prima” technique, meaning it was completed in one sitting. The light I saw flowing through the composition, casting colorful shadows and delightful highlights, inspired me. The painting is on linen affixed to 1/4" board. It will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Pamela

Pamela Blaies unexpectedly discovered her passion for art. A move with her family put her children in sad spirits, so to cheer them up she painted murals on their bedroom walls. With time, she began looking forward to painting more and more. She works in “alla prima” style, a technique in which artists don’t wait for paint to dry and work with layers of wet paint. The effects of light and shadows in the world greatly influence her work. She currently lives in Texas.
