Miranda Gamel
Gilbert, Arizona
The daughter of two artists, Miranda Gamel grew up with artistic aspirations. “When I was young, I couldn’t imagine that I would be anything else… it only seemed natural,” she says. She further developed her skills with her teachers John and Elli Milan. Miranda’s paintings exist on the edge of the surreal and the fantastical while remaining grounded in human emotion. Each painting, through its dynamic imagery, conveys the spirit embodied by the composition’s subject. Miranda’s ultimate goal is to portray each individual “being their true, raw, authentic self.”

The highest compliment that I can give Ms. Gamel is that I intend to buy another one of her works! I like her take on tigers using an approach that may be Basquiat (or not). I find it very effective and attractive art.
- J BosleyThis work was more beautiful than I could have hoped. Very happy.
- J KOTVAN IIIThe color in here is gorgeous—and slightly more subtle than the photograph suggests. I love the sense of movement, intimacy, and passion in this work.

The piece "Monochromatic Beauty Pt. 1" is about the juxtaposition between man and his softness and kindness and vulnerability. The way a person grows or blooms, is through being vulnerable, and strong. You can be brave and strong and still be kind and vulnerable. The peony is double exposed with the man to show the beauty that occurs when they coincide.
What is the story behind "Monochromatic Beauty Pt. 1?
