This piece was painted en plein air. It was the first warm day in April. There was still snow on the ground, but it felt like spring. The painting is on board and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Juliya

Juliya Zhukova’s nickname is “the dancing brush.” Her eyes, heart, and hand guide her brush across the canvas in light, fluid strokes, creating images that are both delicate and energetic. She wants viewers to see her work as an integral part of their home, not just as decoration for the walls. Juliya’s subject matter is versatile, from people to landscapes to flowers, but is often inspired by her own childhood memories. Outside of her studio, Juliya is involved with the Russian Creative Social Union of Artists, one of the largest and most historical painting groups in the world.
