About this artwork

The Venice Jetties on the west coast of Florida is a great place to take your vessel out for a leisurely Sunday afternoon sail, says Fernando. Here, he depicts a blue sky day, with gentle waters and seabirds overhead. Part of Fernando's signature series of nautical scenes capturing the watercraft, wildlife and landscape of his native Florida. He regularly travels, making sketches, taking notes and shooting photographs to later reference in his studio. The result is detailed, intimate paintings that radiate the stunning light and tropical breezes of the Sunshine State.
