I was interested in abstracting the classic image of a reclining nude. For this work I divided each of the main elements into layers and allowed their various textures and forms to define them as fabric, figure, and background. This combination provides the serenity of a peaceful landscape and the intimacy of a figure. This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Daniel

Daniel approaches realism from multiple directions. His oeuvre ranges from modern and stylized to impressionistic and painterly. The female figure is one of Daniel’s most frequent subjects, and the stylistic variations he employs evoke a different mood in each painting. Underlying themes of mystery and sensuality pervade his body of work. Daniel lives and works in Oregon, where his detached garage is his creative haven.
