About this artwork

As evening becomes night, the Maritza - fueled and stocked for tomorrow's task - waits impatiently for sunrise to sail again, says artist Fernando Soler. Part of his signature series of nautical scenes capturing the watercraft, wildlife and landscape of his native Florida. He regularly travels, making sketches, taking notes and shooting photographs to later reference in his studio. The result is detailed, intimate paintings that radiate the stunning light and tropical breezes of the Sunshine State.
