Lembo di Copriletto
About this artwork
Artist Simone Giaiacopi painted a close-up of the edge of a home bedspread hit by the warm sunlight. It is the light that allowed me to see an everyday object with different eyes, shares Simone. The painting belongs to an ongoing series on the nuances of cloth. It is magnified to show the individual warp and weft threads. While these textiles are every day, they look lived and worn. They allude both to the work of those who made them and to the life of those who used them.
