I love to paint big clouds as they appear in the summer sky and here I use deep indigo, cobalt blue, and chartreuse yellow-green to create a modern landscape. This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges, in a float style, gold crackle wood frame, wired and ready to hang.

The canvas dimensions are 16"H x 20"W x 1.5"D. The overall dimensions of the framed piece are 18.5"H x 22.5"W x 1.75"D.

Getting to Know Nancy

Reflected in Nancy Hughes Miller’s paintings are the coastal and rural environments of southeastern North Carolina, her birthplace, where she still spends much of her time. As a child, Nancy’s primary education did not include art classes, so she was delighted when one day her oldest brother returned home from college with newsprint and charcoal. She went on to pursue a career path in graphic design and fine arts. Now a full-time artist, Nancy experiments with vibrant colors and fluid forms to create her non-traditional, painterly landscapes. She enjoys working with oils, a medium that dries slowly and lends itself nicely to blending. Nancy strives to produce artwork that is, according to her, “quiet, yet bold.”
