Casa con Glicine Secco
About this artwork
An old abandoned house slowly crumbles in time. Artist Simone Giaiacopi draws attention with utmost care and detail to a wisteria branch creeping and overtaking the remains. Nature regains possession of what has been taken away from it, says Simone. While at first the painting may look photographic, in reality, small brushstrokes punctuate the surface. This painting belongs to the artist's series of abandoned houses that represent the long gone Tuscan rural life. With these paintings, Simone tries to capture a heritage while it is fading away.
