The paintings in Agnieszka's Botanik series are inspired by the lush flora of the jungle. The pieces are created on smooth wood panels, further suggesting an image of the forest.

Agnieszka Potrzebnicka

Warszawa, Poland

Artist Agnieszka Potrzebnicka comments on honoring nature with her dramatic surrealist floral portraits. Having worked as a painting conservator after college, as well as being a lover of nature, Agnieszka felt called to interpret our modern world with elements from our history. Her studio is filled with books and plants that inspire her. Once inspiration hits, she paints with oil on canvas. "My art expresses my own personal need of a contact with the world of nature, my longing for a lost relationship with nature, that we as humans used to have, but we lost it in the time of progressive industrialization." When she is not painting, you can find her tending to her small urban garden, in which she grows various plants and vegetables, as well as spending quality time with her daughter. Potrzebnicka’s creations have been showcased in various exhibitions in Poland. She graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from Akademia Sztuk Pieknych in Warsaw, Poland.

K Trapp purchased this artwork. style="color: #000000;"9/18/2020 | 4:13 PM

We love this artwork. The actual colors are a bit more smoky and muted on the canvas than what the website shows. I actually prefer them that way but faithfulness to original hue and saturation should definitely be of more importance to the store/artist when selling a painting online. We had some issues with improperly filled-in customs documentation when bringing this item into the USA but the store and artist were absolutely wonderful in fixing them. In that last respect, my experience was way better than what I had expected. Overall, both me and my hubby are very happy with our purchase and would recommend both Agnieszka and U Gallery to any potential buyer. We might consider buying more of the same artist in the future.
