My paintings are interpretations of the effects of light in nature. Often when I am in the car driving or the passenger, I will hold my camera up and take random shots of the landscape. Back in the studio I go through the images looking for inspiration. This painting is my interpretation of the diffused light through the fog on the horizon. The predominate blue of the painting continues around the sides. The painting has a final layer of varnish and it is wired and ready to hang.

Getting to Know Victoria

Victoria Veedell loves capturing the essence of nature by creating landscapes that are not necessarily seen, but felt. She enjoys traveling and has completed residencies everywhere from India to Japan. When she’s not painting, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring. She finds inspiration in everything she sees, such as the moody and misty qualities of fog. Victoria currently lives in California. Fun fact: she is from Texas but no one would ever guess that unless they tried her spicy Lasagna — it includes jalapeños!
