"This painting is based on a view of ranches in the Arkansas River Valley in central Colorado," shares artist Rodgers Naylor. A thoughtful landscape that acknowledges the intricacies of nature's colors. The pastoral fields give way to the majesty of the blue mountains. "The Sawatch Range is in the background," Rodgers adds. "The river's headwaters are a few miles upstream, and the water eventually empties into the Gulf of Mexico."

Rodgers Naylor boasts more than 15 years of making art. He enjoys painting in his 1920's Denver bungalow studio and en plein air, depicting both rural and urban landscapes. He especially loves scenes that suggest a story or have an interesting arrangement of light and dark shapes. During his free time, he enjoys hiking and snowshoeing in his home town in Colorado.
