The day's last light shines brightly on the cottage and the swift moving creek to create a mystical quality.  Layers of oil glaze were used to achieve the transparent effect on the foliage and grassy banks.  This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with dark brown finished sides and comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Gail

Gail Greene’s paintings rarely end up the way she started them. After an initial block in, she steps back and studies the canvas. Whether it’s adding a spontaneous waterfall or painting new cliffs, she’s usually tinkering with something. Her intention with art is simple – to make the viewer feel good. When she’s not making art, Gail has her hands in many different pots. She’s a retired realtor, currently owns and operates a pet sitting service, and loves working in the garden in her spare time. The easel, though, is where Gail lets herself get lost.
