An image of a wild turkey tom in the prime bloom of Spring. This piece was an entry for a state conservation stamp contest. It was painted on a 9x12 panel and then matted to a finished image dimension of 6.5x9 as per the contest rules. As such the mat is a part of the piece. The mat can be removed but there is no image under the mat.

Getting to Know Nathan

Nathan Hager paints the outdoors and captures its beauty while adding his own twist. He describes his paintings as "rooted in traditional representationalism while celebrating the craft of painting." He currently lives in Minnesota and finds inspiration in Representationalism and Impressionism. The Nicolai Fechin show at The Museum of Russian Art also sparked an interest in the work of Russian Impressionists.
