This painting is part of Sheila Finch's ongoing series of California coastal scenes. "The coast in and around Half Moon Bay provides an endless supply of flower fields as inspiration," says Sheila. "From late February through August, the entire coast is a wealth of blooms. Each flower field has its own personality of pattern and color notes, very inspiring!"

Getting to Know Sheila

Sheila spends many hours studying clouds from the cockpit of her sailboat on the California coast. She's frequently blessed with beaming sunrises and storms that create beautiful displays of light streaming across the ocean or shimmering off the nearby coastal mountain range. Sheila's award-winning paintings have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. She has received recognition from the National Arts Appreciation Program, and her work has been exhibited at the prestigious L'Espace Bateau Lavoir in Paris.
