Artwork

Even though Texas has exquisite oysters from the Gulf of Mexico, I still love to eat boutique oysters from the East and West coasts.  This particular shell was farmed in Washington State in cold, crisp waters.  The jagged shape adds to its unusual beauty. This piece is on canvas board and will need a frame for display.

For Kristine Kainer, recreating her emotional attachments to subject matter, whether a still-life or landscape, is paramount. Her goal is to emotionally trigger a response in the viewer. But, "this response does not need to replicate my own feelings; instead, I hope to make the viewer pause for a moment, reflect upon, then respond to my work in a personal, meaningful way."

Thank you for "introducing" me to Bellamy Murphy, Malie! What refreshing work she does (and right up my alley regarding the love of the water). Your comparison is greatly appreciated!

: ) Your work reminds me a little of what I've seen of Bellamy Murphy's work-she has some great pieces too. Both of you are very talented!!
