"Walk the Ocean" was inspired by the impassioned colors of the ocean and how it embodies the deeply human conflict between strength and flexibility. The piece is part of my geometric series. These geometric abstract oil paintings explore the subtle balance between order and chaos, darkness and light, structure and freedom. Immerse yourself in worlds of circles, lines and shapes that remain elusive even as they gradually reveal their inner secrets.
I created this painting using archival-grade oil paint and natural non-toxic solvent on thick, 1.5" deep gallery wrapped canvas. The edges are painted and the work comes ready to hang.
Cynthia Ligeros creates abstract, complex works that usually begin with a single driving emotion. She currently lives in Colorado and loves the work of many artists, such as Mark Rothko. Cynthia loves finding inspiration in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. If you look closely at any of her paintings, you can find a little bit of blue sky hidden somewhere.
