This piece is of a wave inspired by the Pacific NW coast. I created the work using oil and cold wax on hand stretched, gallery wrapped canvas.
Jeremy Prim is a Seattle based artist, known for his evocative minimalist seascapes. Through a process of experimentation, he works using his signature method of mixing oil paint tempered with cold wax to create a hazy, distant view. The impetus for his work derives from the beauty of the sea and the peaceful solitude one feels in its presence. Emotive, rather than being purely representational, his paintings are inspired by the coastline of the Pacific Ocean, and primarily derived from memory and intuition.
